2nd China Microfinance Investor Conference 2010
Beijing, 25-26 March 2010In February 2008, WMFG organized its first conference on inclusive finance in China in collaboration with the China Association of Microfinance (CAM) and UNDP. In November of the same year, GTZ and the People's Bank of China (PBC) organized their first conference about investment in the microfinance industry.
For 2010, GTZ and PBC will be collaborating with WMFG for a 2nd China Microfinance Investor Conference.
The conference will bring together international and Chinese investors with local providers of inclusive financial services, regulators and other stakeholders in the industry. More than 800 Microcredit Companies, Village and Township Banks, City Commercial Banks and the Postal Savings Bank of China will be invited as potential targets for investments.
With the recent establishment of hundreds of new MicroCredit Companies, participants are bound to have extensive "food for talk"!

Lending methodology exchange workshop
Lausanne, 5th of November 2009The World Microfinance Forum Geneva organized a full day workshop for managers responsible for micro and small loan portfolios. Selected financial institutions from a developed country (Switzerland) and a developing country (Bolivia) presented their respective lending methodologies, and a moderator facilitated an exchange of experiences.

Geneva, 7th of September 2009WMFG commissioned a survey among European pension funds on their rationale and perspectives for investment in microfinance. The report was launched during a lunch event for a select group of members, sponsors and pension funds.

Geneva, 23rd of June 2009WMFG organized a conference for pension funds and institutional asset managers interested in microfinance as an investment opportunity. An independent overview of microfinance investment products in the current crisis was followed by a debate on the role of public funding in microfinance.
