Working Group on Inclusive Finance in Switzerland

Welcome to the Working Group on Inclusive Finance in Switzerland.

Following the World Microfinance Forum Geneva (WMFG) workshop on "Lending Methodology Exchange" that showcased the work of several Swiss providers of financial services to micro- and small entreprises (MSEs), two needs were identified:

  • the need for better information on the market,
  • the need for coordination among the different actors.

Therefore, in response to the request of several stakeholders, WMFG has decided to establish a two-year Working Group on Inclusive Finance in Switzerland.

What activities will the Working Group carry out?

  • Share information on demand and supply financial and non-financial services for MSEs,
  • Identify and guide pertinent research into key issues pertaining to MSE finance,
  • Formulate and publish joint positions on issues of mutual concern,
  • Engage with the government and non-financial service providers in order to ensure complementarity of services.
