The World Microfinance Forum Geneva (WMFG) selects 15 or more Partners and Members for each Working Group which focuses on a topic of mutual concern. Working Group Partners and Members may be competitors from the same sector who see the benefit of working together on certain issues, or they may be representatives of different types of organisations that have a shared interest.
There are two kinds of Members:
Working Group Partners are the main funders and ‘face’ of the Group. With the support of WMFG, they lead the Group's agenda-setting process. They have authorship over any publications or other products the Working Group produces. Partners represent the Group in the media and make press statements on its behalf. They also enjoy all Members’ benefits.
Working Group Members are secondary funders of the Working Group. Like Partners, they contribute financially and in-kind to the running of the Group. They participate in all closed sessions and can influence the agenda. They have privileged access to Working Group publications and tools and participate in and make use of the Working Group’s Online Portal.
